The EIC is organising an oil and gas trade delegation to Lagos in Nigeria from the 4-7 April 2016.Why Nigeria?
With proven reserves of 37 billion barrels of crude oil and 180 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, Nigeria holds Africa’s second-largest and largest reserves of crude oil and natural gas respectively.
After reaching its peak production of 2.44 million barrels per day in 2005, production started to decline amid rising security issues, pipeline vandalism and oil theft. As the situation has improved over the last years the production rate was back at 2.4 million barrels per day in 2014.
According to EICDataStream projects worth a combined $229.3 billion across Nigeria’s oil and gas industry are currently under development or have entered planning. The most valuable assets of the OPEC member country can be found in the Niger River Delta as well as offshore in the Bight of Benin, the Gulf of Guinea and the Bight of Bonny.
Despite the unfortunate current oil price environment, proven reserves as well as ageing equipment and infrastructure offer promising opportunities for the UK supply chain.
If you would like to exploit the tremendous opportunities in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry this is the chance to engage in the market and establish client relationships.Book before 11th December to secure the early bird discount!
