23 July, 2014
Major operators and contractors to lead a high-value programme of conference sessions, supply chain briefings and one-to-one supplier-buyer meetings at the EIC’s must-attend oil and gas event.
The Energy Industries Council (EIC) has launched bookings for EIC Connect Oil & Gas 2014, the biggest UK oil and gas supply chain event of the year.
Taking place at Manchester Central on 25-26 November 2014, the world’s leading oil and gas operators and contractors will gather at EIC Connect Oil & Gas 2014 to identify UK capability for major oil and gas projects globally.
EIC Connect Oil & Gas 2014 will follow its successfully established format, with supply chain presentations running alongside a two-day conference and exhibition. The highly-anticipated programme of supply chain briefings will be delivered by leading oil and gas companies who will inform delegates about future markets, upcoming projects and procurement strategies.
Speakers at the 2012 event included: AMEC, Bechtel, BG Group, Centrica, ConocoPhillips, Foster Wheeler, Kværner, Larsen & Toubro, Petrofac, SBM Offshore, Shell, Statoil, Subsea 7, Tullow Oil, Wood Group and WorleyParsons, who delivered insight on their latest global oil and gas projects and advised delegates on supply chain contracting strategies.
Supply chain briefings will be supplemented by one-2-one meetings where delegates will have the opportunity to put their case direct to key purchasing decision-makers.
Alongside the briefings, speakers from major operators and contractors will lead an expert conference programme that promises to offer invaluable insight into the critical challenges and opportunities facing the supply chain today. Lord Livingston, UK Minister for Trade & Investment, will lead a Plenary Session, outlining the theme for the conference: ‘A 10-Year Global Outlook for UK Companies in the Oil & Gas Industry’, which will be followed by a full programme of sessions aimed at educating suppliers on future opportunities and challenges across the upstream, midstream and downstream industries.
The event is being hosted by the Energy Industries Council (EIC), the leading trade association for UK companies supplying goods and services to the energy industries worldwide. At the event, over 55 companies will exhibit products and services that showcase the best in supply chain excellence.
Commenting on the 2012 event, Peter Christie, Business Development Director (Oil & Gas, EMEA), PEI-Genesis, said: “EIC Connect Oil & Gas has been terrific for us. We have seen the right people and it really is an excellent event with 90% of people coming with the right approach and looking to do business. I also thought that the venue was ideal as well. All in all, an excellent event and we look forward to attending the next one.”
EIC Connect Oil & Gas 2014 is organised in association with UKTI, who will host an International Showcase at the event, with International Commercial Officers present to offer delegates advice on how to access key markets.
EIC staff will be on hand at the event to discuss the many ways that the organisation can help with business development activities. Representatives from some of the EIC’s Regional Offices, Membership, Events, Training and Sector Analysis teams will there to meet delegates and to answer questions, plus there will be live demonstrations of EICDataStream.
Sector Analysts from the EIC’s Oil & Gas team will also attend the event to introduce delegates to EIC Insight Reports, our newly launched market intelligence reports that provide brief analysis of major energy project contracting activities in global markets. Utilising data from EICDataStream, reports are compiled individually for the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream markets, with each sector covered twice-yearly.
Commenting on EIC Connect Oil & Gas, Sarah Lansdell, Head of UK & National Events at the EIC, said: “EIC Connect Oil & Gas 2014 is set to be another outstanding event. A first-class speaker line-up is shortly to be announced and the exhibitor list includes some of the most forward thinking UK suppliers. The added value conference was well received in 2012, so I am confident that this will be the best EIC Connect event yet, delivering high quality networking and significant revenue-generating opportunities across the supply chain.“
The EIC is offering its members an early-bird offer of £249 +VAT for bookings made before 31 August 2014, or £199 +VAT for two or more places booked together. After this date, delegates can book their place for just £279 +VAT per person (EIC members), or £299 +VAT (non-members).
The next in the EIC Connect series of events will be EIC Connect Middle East 2015 in Abu Dhabi next June, followed by a return to Manchester Central in the November for EIC Connect Energy 2015, which will cover all aspects of power generation.
